Most positions are in-person, based out of our Davis Square office. We also are open to remote positions in Australia or Europe if if you are willing to own some of DevOps in addition to your core role. All roles have positions open for junior, senior, lead and principal / director team depending on your experience.

Your Role

As a Research Data Scientist at Mobi Systems, you would play a critical role in the development and implementation of our core POI characterization models and taxonomy development, as well as architecting the infrastructure for them. Your focus will be working on research problems such as entity creation and relationship estimation for the tens of thousands of concepts that could be used for describing travel related activities, and incorporate the approach into different real-world planning systems for travel and transportation. The ideal candidate will be familiar with models and algorithms in one or several of these areas at both the theoretical and implementation levels. You will have the chance to solve complex research problems and see your solutions come to life in different fields and across the world!


  • M.Sc./Ph.D. in Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, or a related field.
  • Experience with modern machine learning models, network optimization algorithms, and the latest research trends.
  • 2+ years of relevant academic research or industry experience in developing algorithms and building models.
  • Depth and breadth in state-of-the-art approaches for at least one of natural language processing, operations research, or constraint programming.
  • Strong programming skills with programming languages such as Java, C++, and Python.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent creative problem solving skills.
