Most positions are in-person, based out of our Davis Square office. We also are open to remote positions in Australia or Europe if if you are willing to own some of DevOps in addition to your core role. All roles have positions open for junior, senior, lead and principal / director team depending on your experience.

Your Role

As a Machine Learning Software Engineer for the Data Characterization team at Mobi Systems, you would play a critical role in the implementation and integration of our core POI characterization models and taxonomy models, as well as architecting the infrastructure for them. Your focus will be on efficient and scalable microservices that support characterization tasks like entity creation and relationship estimation for the tens of thousands of concepts that could be used for describing travel related activities, and incorporate the approach into different real-world planning systems for travel and transportation. The ideal candidate will be familiar with distributed systems and related models in one or several of these areas. You will have the chance to solve complex engineering problems and see your solutions come to life in different fields and across the world!

Qualifications:

  • BS/MS in computer science, or related field.
  • 2+ years as full stuck engineer, backend engineer or ML engineer
  • 3+ years experience in python
  • 2+ years of relevant academic research or industry experience in implementing learning and/or network algorithms and building models.
  • Experience in creating and optimizing Big Data processes, pipelines and architectures
  • Through understanding of ML principles
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Preferred:

  • Depth and breadth in state-of-the-art approaches for at least one of natural language processing, operations research, or constraint programming.
